since this is the 4th of july weekend, do any of you display the american flag in or around you home?.
i have to admit, although i have been faded for many years, i find it difficult to even own anything with the american flag symbol.
I appreciate the 4th of July celebrations, but I'm not so patriotic that I'd display a flag or dress in flag-like customs.
I'll go as far as doing the cookout bit, watching the fireworks, and maybe even wearing the flag colors. I don't think I'd ever display a flag, though.
Perhaps it's that JW deep in my hard drive indoctrination. Something I guess I'll never be able to get rid off for as long as I live.

5 dead, 3 injured in i-10 rollover
arizona daily star - jul 01 3:21 am
five people died and three were injured in a rollover crash on interstate 10 east of willcox, officials said thursday.
Sad, sad news.

i need some feedback on a delicate matter.
my non-jw father is going to be 87 years old in a few months.
in the event of him passing away, i'm worried my jw sister will take over the funeral arrangements with a jw talk and all that.
Ask him. Put his wishes in writing and then you'll have the power to execute them.
Otherwise, yes, your sister may take over with the whole JW funeral customs.
DY
we all know how disfellowshipped or disassociated children get treated by their jw parents, that they are totally shunned.
but what happens when it comes to family inheritance do they get treated fairly or do they get a lesser share or in extreme cases perhaps nothing at all?
and would jw parents that have no children left in the wts choose to give everything to the org?
Ex-JW children miss out on everything family related if the parents are firm JWs, including inheritance. They'll be lucky to find out on time to make it to the funeral/burial that the parent(s) have died.
It's down right cruel treatment that they get.

i heard from someone that they asked about the bible and dinosauros, the jw didn't believe and talked about whales in reply!.
was there something you couldn't explain on the doors?
How the WBTS arrived to the 1914 date. I cannot explain that for the life of me!

so, i've been sitting at the computer all night long, not really panicked, but definitely disturbed at the thought of what the months to come will entail.. the port-a-cath was "installed" (surgically) on monday, and that was tough.
somehow the lumpectomy last month and even finding out that there was lymph node involvement was okay.
scary, but okay.
Hoping for the best in your case.

hey all i used to read posts where people have found out they have lost loved ones and were never told about it nor the funeral.
last week my mum called me up and said "by the way sister such and such passed away last week the memorial was yesterday"!!!!
i used to be close to this sister and for those from australia might even had known her or heard of her sister isabelle sewell married to ted sewell, they have been living in bethel for over 10 years now.
That is so rude!!!
They probably do stuff like this to keep certain people from going to the funeral or the burial. It's down right inconsiderate.
My relatives pull stuff like that with the relatives that have faded or that are non-JWs. They're ashamed to have them show up at the funeral/burial.
JWs in 'good standing' are ashamed of those in their families that have left the religion. THAT'S THE PLAIN TRUTH.
Sorry to hear this happened to you.

i love it!.
love the take off, love the in-flight meal -yum!
- love the landing.
Love it! Love it!! Love it!!!
The take off is my favorite part!

a long hoilday weekend coming up.
any special plans?.
in milwaukee, summerfest begins, and a bunch here, (those who post) in wisconsin are going.. what do you like to do.
The usual cookout with family and other 'spiritual weaklings' and watching of fireworks.
But of course, we're not doing it to celebrate Independence Day in way. We just do the cookout because everybody happens to be off from work and we watch the fireworks because they're just soooo pretty!!! HA!!!!!!!!!!
